Men’s Initiative is a resource, network, and treatment center for men, particularly those in mental and emotional distress. Their professional volunteers and staff provide addiction education and support services for adults and teens. They provide a comfortable, non-threatening environment where men can get the confidential care they might otherwise be reluctant to seek.
According to Men’s Initiative:
Drugs, depression, and divorce are just three main areas that affect men in profound, often misunderstood, and misdiagnosed ways. Many men who need psychological care simply don’t or won’t get it—due to social stigma, fear of the unknown, or an inability to pay for it.
This nonprofit organization was founded by Geoffrey W. Jackson, co-founder of HealthLink Medical Center, featured in a previous Journal entry. Visit Men’s Initiative on the web, or contact them via phone: (215) 657-2300 or email: info@mensinitiative.org.
